The Beginning in San Pedro
Harbor Diesel & Equipment, Inc. was founded in San Pedro, California in 1971 as an authorized Full-Service Dealer for the Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors with a staff of six employees and a commitment to provide the highest quality sales, parts and service support to our customers.
The Move to Long Beach
In 1976, Harbor Diesel & Equipment, Inc. moved to its present location in Long Beach, California consisting of approximately 53,000 sq. ft. of buildings on 1.5 acres of land and has grown into a company with annual sales volume in excess of $22 million and a staff of over fifty employees representing quality product lines and servicing several market segments.
Forming HD Industries
In 2004, our corporate operating name of HD Industries was established in order to encompass all of the product lines and diverse markets we represent. Today HD Industries – a division of Harbor Diesel & Equipment, Inc. is the Southwestern Distributor of ZF Heavy Duty Off-Highway and On-Highway Transmissions and Axles, the Southern California Dealer for Capacity of Texas Trailer Jockeys and Factory Authorized Full-Service Dealer for Cummins, Caterpillar (Truck and Marine), and Isuzu. HD Industries also represents Baldwin Filters, Racor Filters, and many other allied product lines to support the needs of our customers.

To ensure HD Industries provides the best after-sales service and support to our customers, we will make the necessary investment in employee training, special tooling and replacement part inventory.
